Peter sought to warn his readers that they need to put their faith in God alone. He knew the temptations and hate that the devil plants in our lives and wanted to challenge his readers to feel empowered by leaning on God.
2. Spend Time With God
As humans we are imperfect. We get busy and oftentimes prioritize worldly things over-investing in our relationship with God. You can rectify this by setting aside time to spend with God.
Spending time in prayer and reading the bible should become a priority in your day. Routinely spending time with God allows you to strengthen your relationship and add consistency to your faith.
3. Seek Truth In Scripture
The Bible should be regarded as a beacon of truth that reaffirms Christians’ faith in Christ. Although many branches of Christianity disagree on interpretation, His Word is unchanging.
The word of God can be liberating. In the book of John we are freed from our expectations of earning salvation. John reaffirms us that we can’t save ourselves, we are saved through Christ alone.
4. Put Your Fears In God’s Hands
Philippians 4 explores the concept of entrusting your worries to God. When fear and worry creep into your life, you need to bring those worries directly to Christ. It is through him alone that you can overcome all trials and tribulations which may come your way.
Philippians 4:6 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
5. Acknowledge Your Blessings
God is always working in our lives, he breathes love and mercy into each and every day. By intentionally identifying and acknowledging the blessings in your life, you can keep his good works in focus.
Even in hard times, God is present and exercising his grace upon us. Philippians 4:8-9 even says, “Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me.”
You can shift your perception and outlook on life by focusing on your blessings.
Lean On God In Prosperous And Hard Times
Having a strong belief in God can help you overcome the problems in your life. When you fill your life with God, you are able to persevere through hard times.
